The Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) is going to hold MATTA Fair from September 7th to 9th, 2018 at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC), Kuala Lumpur. To explore new market in southeast Asia and attract more friends from southeast Asia to visit Taitung, this time, Taitung County Government is going to introduce the new attraction in Green Island, the Underwater Postbox. Besides, the world class triathlon IRONMAN70.3 is going to launch next March and April. It is an event where both international and national top professional athletes are assembled. Moreover, the International Hot Air Balloon Festival, which just ended, is also an activity that one should not miss. The number of the visitors to the Festival set a new high this year reaching 900 thousand people. Taitung is surely a place worth visiting again and again.
New Green Island Attraction – Underwater Postbox is not only a checkpoint, but also an installation art to make the ocean cleaner.
This year, Taitung County Government cooperated with Chunghwa Post installing a Seahorse Postbox underwater 11.5m at the offshore of Shihlang Diving Area in Green Island. It is the deepest Underwater Postbox in the world right now. Visitors can buy the waterproof Green Island scenery postcard at cooperative stores and drop it into the Postbox. Then, the underwater postman will help you to “ship” the blessing sharing the beautiful undersea world in Taitung with friends living far away. Besides being a checkpoint and a postbox to attract visitors come to Green Island to dive and to know about the ocean, the Postbox also has the concept of underwater garbage bin. The government hope to make the diving activities in Green Island become more diverse and contain the meaning of environmental protection education.
The Third of Top Track in the World voted by Ironmen
The spectacular natural scenery, the endless coastline and the pure natural fountain in Taitung make it the best location for different kinds of outdoor activities such as cycling, swimming, surfing, running, etc. Two International Triathlons, IRONMAN and Challenge Taiwan, have held the event here in Taitung. Next year, IRONMAN 70.3 is going to celebrate its 10th anniversary being in Taiwan from March 22nd to 24th. The top athletes from all over the world are coming to compete. Besides, it is the first time that Challenge Taiwan become the host of Challenge Asia Pacific Championship which will be held in November 18th in Taitung. On the other hand, the register of 2019 Challenge Taiwan International Triathlon on April 27th - 28th has already started. Those who missed the competition for this year, seize the chance to enroll for next year!
2018 Taiwan International Balloon Festival meeting friends from Malaysia
The 2018 Taiwan International Balloon Festival which has been chosen as 12 Amazing Hot Air Balloon around the world just ended this August. The Festival included distinct activities, such as Hot Air Balloon Rides, Concert, Lightshow, etc. Not only participating in Malaysia Promotion, the Festival also invited 39 character balloons around the world to the event. Besides, 25 hot air balloons rising at the same time in the ceremony has hit a record high. During the lightshow concert, not only the fighter aircraft has a great show with the balloons, it is also the first time combing the performance of the balloon show with water show in Chisang. Moreover, the lightshow at the Champion of World Top 8 Beautiful Library in Taitung Univeristy was also another highlight. With these amazing activities, the total amount of the visitors to Taitung has reached 900 thousand this year. We are pleased to invite friends from Malaysia to join us next year!
